FAQs
How much does a rental cost? Motor home prices are based on the value and age of the RV. They can be as low as $100 per day to $400 for the luxury models. The prices for our motor home rentals can be found on the coaches page.
How about extra costs? There are other costs associated with motor home rentals. Some items to think about are mileage, generator usage, insurance, deposits, kit rentals and others. We will help you plan your trip so that you will minimize any extra costs.
What kind of insurance do I need? Our insurance policy requires you provide an insurance binder from your personal insurance company with minimum limits of 100/300 bodily injury and replacement cost on property.
What is the cost of mileage? An estimated mileage charge will apply to your rental. The charge will be a per day charge based on any miles over the 100 free miles with your rental. The extra mileage rate is .32¢ per mile for miles over 100. Any miles over 250 per day are .45¢ per mile and miles over 400 will be charged at .59¢ per mile. Before your rental we will estimate the total mileage of your trip, payable before you leave. At the end of the rental you will be refunded any excess mileage charges, or be charged at the appropriate rate for additional miles in excess of the estimated mileage.
Up to 100 miles - included. 101 - 250 miles - .32¢ per mile. 251 - 400 miles - .45¢ per mile. over 400 miles - .59¢ per mile.
What deposits are required? Upon reservation, a $500 reservation deposit is required and must be received to reserve the dates requested. This deposit will be applied toward your rental. A minimum damage deposit of $1,000 and estimated rental charges are payable at departure. For certain rental applications, damage deposits may be increased at Corona RV Rentals sole discretion. Upon return, all extra charges, if any, will be refunded.
Is there a charge for the generator? Yes. The generator charge is $3 per hour with 5 hrs. per day free. You can save on this expense by staying in locations that have electrical hookups and not leaving the generator running when you are not in the vehicle. What kind of gas mileage will we get? Mileage depends on the size of the motor home and the driving conditions. Generally, you will get between 7 and 13 miles per gallon. Keep in mind the heavier the vehicle the less mileage you will get. Empty your blank and grey tanks prior to departing your destination.
Do I need a special driver's license to drive a motor home? No, you need to be at least 25 years of age or older and possess a valid driver's license. No special endorsement is necessary.
When can I pick up the motor home? Our pick up time is 3:00 p.m. on the first day of rental. If you would like it earlier, and the unit is ready, we may be able to accommodate your needs.
What kind of motor homes do you rent? Our web site lists the types and sizes of vehicles we rent. All of our vehicles are listed under the category: Class C or Class A
Is it difficult to drive a motor home? Motor homes handle much like a car, especially the "C" class which has a van chassis. You will need to remember that they are much larger than the average car so when you turn, your back end will swing out. When you rent the vehicle you will receive an orientation and a drive around the block to show you how they work.
Are motor homes difficult to hook up? No. At departure you will receive a 60 - 90 minute familiarization tour and learn how to hook up and operate appliances. You simply plug in to a power source and are good to go. Most motor homes can be hooked up and running in minutes.
Does the motor home come equipped with pots and pans? No. We have found that many people like to bring their own utensils and supplies, but we do offer full housekeeping kits.
Housekeeping Kits include: $150 for a party of 4 people
Dinner Plates, Bowls, Glasses, Forks, Spoons, Knives, Steak Knives. Cutting Board, Toaster, Coffeemaker, (2) Saucepans w/lids, Dutch Oven/Stock Pot, Medium Skillet, Cookie Sheet, Mixing bowl, Colander, Large Serving Platter, linens and a variety of necessary supplies. Paper towels, sponge, pot scrubber, disinfectant wipes, dish soap, septic tank additive (2), septic safe toilet paper (4).
Linens, towels, pillows, blankets, sheets, etc.
Besides the rental cost are there any other charges I will incur? There is tax on the rental charges and any additional rental items. The generator fee is $3 per hour and will be collected upon return of the rental. You will also be asked to pay fuel and cleaning/dumping fees at the end of the rental if not completed. Fuel tanks, both gas and propane must be returned full. Our charge to fill tanks is $50 each plus fuel charges. Unit must be returned clean with all holding tanks emptied. The cleaning will be determined by the degree of refurbishing needed. Cleaning is available for a charge of $150 if paid prior to renting or $250 if not. The holding tank dumping charge is $50 if paid in advance and $75 if not.
Does the motor home come with a TV, VCR or stereo? Most units come with entertainment systems. Some are rudimentary, some are extravagant. Most come with TV, VCR and/or DVD player. Those that do will usually have a cable hook up that most campgrounds offer.
Are there roll out awnings on the motor home? All of our units have roll out awnings. Many units have automatic awnings and controls. A reminder, these systems are very expensive and the renter is responsible for any damage. They are very sensitive to wind, so please take precautions and do not leave unattended or down during periods of moderate wind.
Are pets allowed in the motor homes? Pets are welcome in some units. There is an additional rental fee of $150 which will be added to the rental.
Can you smoke in the motor homes? NEVER. There is a strict no smoking policy in all our motor homes. Detection of smoking will result in the complete forfeiture of your rental deposit and may incur odor removal charges.
Is there a limit to how many people can ride in the motor home? There is no legal limit and there is no seat law governing the use of seat belts in any part of the coach beside the front seats, which requires belts. All motor homes come with seat belts on the dinette and the couch if equipped. We recommend they be used. We also recommend the following: · Never exceed the maximum capacity as posted in each individual vehicle. Maximum capacity includes the vehicle, all fluids, all occupants and gear. · All passengers should use the provided seat belts. The total number of seat belts will vary according to each vehicle and its floor plan. · Child safety seats should be used where applicable. The installation and use of these seats should follow the recommendation of the child seat manufacturer. · Overhead areas are designed only for sleeping and should not be occupied while the vehicle is in motion. . · The vehicle should be properly secured prior to travel. This includes locking the doors and dead-bolting them where applicable. Stow the entry step and secure the outside compartments. · We expect that you will use good judgment and prudence in your decisions.

Can I park my car at your rental center while we travel? We have limited parking available, but in most cases we can park one car for one motor home in our storage facility. Corona RV Rentals assumes no responsibility for any and all damage to your vehicle while parked.
Are we allowed to travel into Canada or Mexico? No, we do not allow our vehicles to leave the United States.
How do I pay for the rental? We accept all major credit cards for payment or deposits. Checks are accepted through Telecheck up to a maximum of $2,000. Of course cash is always welcome.
Can I tow my car or boat behind the motor home? We do allow towing with some of our motor homes. The motor homes are only equipped with a receiver hitch, so you would need to provide your own tow bar. We allow a maximum tongue weight of 200 lbs. and a maximum gross weight of 2500 lbs. Towing costs are $25 per day extra.
How much does it cost to stay in campgrounds? Campground rates vary based on time of year and what facilities they offer. Generally you can expect to pay between $10 and $50 per night.
What kind of facilities might a campground offer? A partial list of commonly found facilities would include: electric, water, sewer hook-ups, washer, dryer, swimming pool, playground, BBQ pits, on-site convenience store.
Are there any places we cannot take the motor home? Yes. Travel in Death Valley and other desert areas are not allowed during the hot months. This is due to the excessive wear and tear on the coaches, and the possibility of breakdowns in these hot areas increases tremendously. Also, vehicles are not allowed on logging or other non-public roads. You are responsible for all road hazard damage, so be careful.
What if I am late in returning the vehicle? The vehicle is overdue after 11:00 a.m. on the date of return. A fee of $25 per hour will be charged for each hour you are late. If not returned by office closing time you will be subject to another days rental charges. Please notify the rental center if you will be late in returning. We can make arrangements for late returns subject to availability.
What if I am involved in an accident? With any damage to property we require the filing of a police report. We also require you contact Corona RV Rentals as soon as possible. Please follow the procedures set forth by your insurance company.
What if the motor home breaks down? You will need to contact us as soon as possible. If the repair is minor, under $50, then have it repaired and we will reimburse you. If the repair requires more than that we need to issue authorization before repair is made.
Are there bike racks? We rent bike racks for an additional $25. Are there levelers provided? Some motor homes come equipped with them and some do not. This information will be provided during the orientation.
What if I have to cancel my reservation? You may cancel your reservation up to 60 days prior to the pick-up date and you will be refunded your reservation down payment in full. If canceled between 60 - 30 days prior to departure we will refund 50% of your deposit. If canceled with less than 30 days notice you will forfeit your reservation down payment.
Office Hours: Office hours are generally 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. We may extend these hours on request, if available.
Vehicle Pick Up/Return: Vehicle departure time is 3:00 p.m. Vehicle drop off time is 11:00 a.m. Late returns may be subject to a late return fee of $25 per hour. Customer agrees that they will return unit in the same condition as received. A fee of up to $250 will be charged if the interior of the vehicle has not been cleaned. Any damage, or loss of equipment will be paid for by the renter at the end of the rental. Holding tanks must be emptied prior to return of the vehicle or be subject to an additional dump charge of up to $75. We can offer early pick up or late drop off, but these are subject to the availability of the motor home and extra charges. To take advantage of flexible pick up and drop off times you must call the office prior to rental start or end.
Driver Requirements: Qualified drivers are 25 years of age or older possessing a valid and identifiable driver's license. Each driver must provide an insurance binder for operation of the motor home. All drivers must be listed on, and sign, the Rental Agreement and will be bound by the Terms and Conditions of the Rental Agreement at vehicle pickup.
Orientation Tour: Familiarization tour (approximately 60 minutes to 90 minutes) is required to acquaint the customer and drivers with the operation of the vehicle before departure. This tour is only given during office hours. You may schedule this tour before the rental date subject to availability of motor home or similar model.
Substitutions: If the motor home you reserved is not available due to break down, or some other unforeseen circumstance, we will try to accomodate you with a comparable unit at the same price, but is subject to availability.
Optional Use Generator: Most motor homes are equipped with generators. A generator is not necessary for normal vehicle operation and is subject to frequent service interruption. If a customer chooses to use the generator, extra charges will accrue at $3 per hour as determined by an installed running time meter. Each rental is allowed 5 hours of use per day at no charge.
Parking/Traffic Violations/Toll Violations: Customers are responsible for reporting and payment of all parking/traffic violations at rental termination. Non-reporting of parking/traffic violations breaches the Rental Contract and may result in an administrative charge of up to $250 in addition to fines.
Fuel Information: No warranties are made concerning fuel mileage and fuel tank capacity. We assume no liability for fuel consumption rates. All gasoline and all propane refueling during the trip are at the customer's expense. As per the rental agreement, renter is responsible for returning the motor home with the fuel levels full.
Exterior Storage: Sorry, storing items on vehicle roof or exteriors is not permitted.
Maintenance and Breakdown Responsibility: The customer is responsible for checking engine oil, fluids, and coolant levels at each refueling, as well as reporting mechanical failures immediately. Instructions and procedures for maintenance expense reimbursement are provided at rental. Customers may be held responsible for mechanical damage due to negligence in vehicle operation or failure to provide normal maintenance. In the event the vehicle is in breakdown repair for 12 hours or more, through no fault of the customer, our responsibility to customer is limited to refund of daily rate or portion thereof. Radio, air conditioning, refrigerator, microwave and appliances, cruise control, and generator malfunctions are not considered breakdowns and no refunds are available for repair time to these items.
